Installation - Prefinished Flooring
Prefinished flooring is exactly that, it comes from the factory already finished and ready to install. To begin installing all we need is a clean, smooth and dry subfloor. Prefinished flooring has the following advantages:
- Quickest install (we can lay 750 sq. ft. in a day).
- Very little dust and debris, if any.
- No smell caused by the finish.
- Comparable in price to a regular hardwood floor installation.
- Has the same life span as regular flooring.
- More convenient for the homeowner as it can be used immediately after installation.
- Approximately 20% of our installs are with prefinished flooring.
I am a repeat customer for Erick’s services. His first job for me was to replace a large tile floor with hardwoods, which he did very well and matched perfectly with existing hardwoods.
The most recent job was I required was to replace a damaged basement carpeting with laminate flooring. Because of the insurance process, I had quotes in hand, but I called Erick. Once again, he beat them all. It is especially gratifying that you can work with someone of Erick’s skill and professionalism and still pay a fair price.
He and his team completed the work much faster than expected through diligent work. In addition to laminate install, he also replaced all floor molding and added a matching quarter round molding. Once again, he had to match existing hardwood stairs with the laminate finish and he did a wonderful job. Just to add complexity, he creatively replaced basement kitchen molding to match another wood finish. He is very skilled in his profession.

We wanted to update our home and had decided on putting in hardwood instead of carpeting. Two of our neighbors had used Rios Hardwood Flooring and were VERY PLEASED. Both neighbors are, putting it mildly, very particular. So, we felt confident that the installation would be done correctly, and it was.
To get an estimate, Erick arrived onetime, gave us suggestions and was willing to provide two quotes – one for partial and the second for the entire foyer, great room, kitchen and sun room. He even offered to check to see if he could buy the flooring at a better price than stores had quoted. Rios Hardwood Flooring may cost more, but, the old saying is true: “You get what you pay for!” They are worth it, period!
The Rios crew came each day on time, were very polite while they worked. They told us in advance of the disruption of moving furniture, taking up old flooring, etc. They were great by blending / mixing various wood planks to create a non-uniform pattern making the rooms seem larger and very elegant!
